Metering Isolation Relays
TransData Isolation Relays are used to electrically isolate the pulse initiator wiring path of electricity meters to protect the meter, network components, SCADA, energy management systems and other recording devices from damage caused by transmitted or induced electrical surges.
For specialized dual-data stream applications, TransData Isolation Relays can replicate a single pulse initiator input into two or three data streams for multiple device monitoring or recording of energy data.
All TransData Isolation Relays are fully manufactured and tested in the USA.
Features of TransData Metering Isolation Relays include:
- Surge Protection Device for Energy Metering Installations with Pulse Inputs/Output Data
- Recommended for Commercial-Industrial, Substation and Generation Applications
- Isolates Meter Pulse Output/Input Wiring Path to Protect the Revenue Meter and external devices like Demand Recorders, RTU's and Energy Management Systems against Transmitted and Induced Electrical Surge Damage
- Recommended for Lightning Prone Areas and Substations with Poor Grounding Characteristics
- PUC Requirement in several States to Eliminate Risk of Transmitting Electrical Surges into Customers Premises
- All Solid-State and Mercury-Wetted Models Available
